Orgonbustery a UFO.Co szykuje się w polskiej zagrodzie.

Posted by zenobiusz w dniu 10 Lipiec 2011

Pozdrawiam

Alvernia Studios to nowoczesny kompleks filmowy zlokalizowany w pobliżu Krakowa, wyposażony w środki pozwalające na realizację najbardziej nawet skomplikowanych produkcji. Niezwykłe rozwiązania architektoniczne przyciągają wzrok przejeżdżających położoną obok autostradą A4; przestrzenie i technologie wewnątrz budynków potwierdzają to pierwsze wrażenie.

Alvernia: a new film production complex that pushes the boundaries

17 July 2009

Futuristic facility targets international productions with stellar design and world-class equipment spec

It looks like something from a movie. But Alvernia Studios is no scaled down model of a futuristic industrial plant on a film set. It’s the film set itself, or rather a fully-fledged movie production works, kitted out with nothing but the best, and it’s massive. The two largest domes, now nearing completion, would each be capable of encompassing a smattering of houses and a small church. Instead they are home to the main sound stages, each with a central height of 25m and a 6,300m2 floor area.

But it isn’t only its striking appearance, or the fact that, as the magazine Resolution put it, ‘it’s the biggest and most sophisticated film facility build anywhere in recent years’ that makes Alvernia noteworthy. The brainchild of Stanislaw Tyczynski, an entrepeneur who founded RMF FM, Poland’s first commercial radio station, it also breaks new ground in terms of location. Sited a few miles west of Krakow, it is Poland’s first and only top flight film production complex, representingan investment of more than $200m. And it is positioning itself not only to serve the domestic market but to attract international film makers, with residential features such as a restaurant and an onsite hotel in addition to its studios.

The audio facilities are breathtaking. Equipped with a 72-fader Neve 88R the music scoring studio can accommodate orchestras or choirs in excess of 100 people. The acoustic properties are, basically, what you want them to be. Along with rotating wall panels offering a range of surfaces from absorbent to hard and reflective, there is a flown acoustic board ‘pine cone’ which opens out for variable absorption of reflections.

The 490m2 dubbing theatre is fitted with a 96-fader DFC Gemini, while the two smaller sound post production studios are each fitted with AMS Neve MMC 300s (click here for a full equipment list). Acoustic architecture – by no means a straightforward job given the unusual shapes of the buildings – was in the expert hands of Andy Munro of Munro Acoustics.

On the video side, there are two 2000m2 and two 124m2 sound stages in addition to the main domes, a further large casting/ rehearsal stage, plus full production facilities including offices, a chemical lab and colour correction studios. And naturally the infrastructure includes fibreoptic networking of all functions – audio video, control and IT.

Such a comprehensive and intricately planned project didn’t spring into being overnight, but getting it ready for operation has been remarkably quick: the process from concept to commissioning has taken less than five years. Now, reports Piotr Witkowski, who has been in charge of the technical realization of Tyczynski’s vision, all bar a few elements are complete, and Alvernia has started taking bookings. Movie makers looking to realize their visions should click here.

Hollywood-Krakow Style

Poland’s Alveria Studios, the ultra-modern complex which
provides a full range of facilities and technical support for
everything from commercials to major motion pictures
 located
near Krakow is now fully operational – with a generous dose
of MSE’s unique equipment.
„It’s not the cube buildings we’re all used to,” says Robert
Kulesh. MSE’s VP of Sales and Marketing, who worked closely
with Al vernia Studios’ PiotrWitkowski and team while the
studio was still in the design phase. „The buildings are a series
of coved domes, ‚bubble-like’ structures, which allow for
infinite possibilities in their interiors.

„One of the most striking, for us, is their blue-screen stage
which features a 50m by 18m tall curved screen, entirely
created with MSE’s unique blue/green screen fabric.”
In addition to supplying Alvernia Studios with blue/green
screen, MSE supplied a range of grip hardware and lighting
control devices from scrims and flags to a wide array of
overheads and butterflies.
„Based on many conversations with people in the industry, we
chose MSE equipment for Alvernia Studios,” says Witkowski.
„Everyone said that Matthews is one of the best high-quality
manufacturers of the fines! hardware for the film industry.
They were right!”

Press Release from Vicon

26 May 2009, Oxford UK: Vicon, developer of Academy Award-winning motion capture systems, today announced it is providing one of Eastern Europe’s leading film studios with a system based on its latest and most powerful cameras. The Vicon motion capture system is being deployed at Digicinema, which is based in Poland and already boasts impressive facilities for the movie and gaming industries.

Digicinema positions itself as a one-stop shop capable of delivering high-end feature film and game projects. The 24 Vicon T160 cameras that will comprise the new motion capture studio will enhance existing Digicinema facilities, including a music scoring studio, sound post production studio, an advanced digital intermediate process and film dubbing theatre, a central machine room and chemical laboratory, as well as sound stages, catering facilities, wardrobes and make-up rooms.

The Vicon T160 has four times the resolution of any other motion capture camera. It boasts a resolution of 16 megapixels, captures 10-bit grayscale using 4704 X 3456 pixels and can capture speeds of up to 2,000 frames per second.

The 24 camera system was installed over two days, and Mikolaj Valencia, visual effects supervisor, was capturing data on the third day. Valencia said: „Digicinema is already well established as a provider of excellent services to the movies and games industry. But we wanted to take things to a whole new level. By adding the Vicon system to our portfolio we have become the only motion capture studio in Eastern Europe and we plan to enable movie makers and games developers to find faster and more cost-effective routes to adding rich 3D graphics to their projects.”

Vicon has customers in every continent across the globe, in sectors as diverse as movie making and life sciences. Whether the desired outcome is realistic special effects, or gait analysis for clinical purposes, all require high quality visual science capabilities and reliability.

Doug Reinke, chief executive of Vicon, said: „The T160 camera is capable of capturing 120 frames per second at full frame resolution. This means our customers can now accurately track the finest detail, and the subtlest movements in even the largest volumes. I’m delighted Digicinema has chosen Vicon to add to its already impressive range of services. It is great to see the Vicon brand becoming established in an exciting and vibrant territory such as Eastern Europe.

Vicon adds bleeding-edge mo-cap tech to Eastern hub
by Rob Crossley

Updated Rig of 24 powerful Vicon T160 cameras set up at Digicinema’s new CG animation studio in Poland

Correction: Develop’s first report stated that Vicon had ownership of the new Digicinema studio, when in fact it is providing its technology for the facility. Amended article follows:

Global motion-capture giant Vicon is providing technology for a new studio at Digicinema, the Polish mo-cap hub servicing the game and film industries.

Vicom – whose owning group Oxford Metric has a clientele including Sega, Nintendo, SCE, Ubisoft, Activision-Blizzard, Electronic Arts and Square Enix – has sold its T160 camera system to Digicinema as the Polish facility opens its new CG animation studio.

The Vicon T160 camera reportedly has “four times the resolution of any other motion capture camera”, with a resolution of 16 megapixels, capturing 10-bit grayscale using 4704 X 3456 pixels. The cameras can capture speeds of up to 2,000 frames per second.

“Digicinema is already well established as a provider of excellent services to the movies and games industry,” says visual effects supervisor Mikolaj Valencia.

“But we wanted to take things to a whole new level. By adding the Vicon system to our portfolio we have become the only motion capture studio in Eastern Europe and we plan to enable movie makers and games developers to find faster and more cost-effective routes to adding rich 3D graphics to their projects.”

Doug Reinke, chief executive of Vicon, applauded his company’s camera technology: “Our customers can now accurately track the finest detail, and the subtlest movements in even the largest volumes,” he said.

The studio will add to Digicinema’s range of production facilities, which include a music scoring studio, a sound post production studio, an advanced digital intermediate process and film dubbing theatre, as well as sound stages.
